Letter to Parents

A few words from other educational and medical experts...

I have watched all the CDs and just love them! I have observed a baby watching them for the last couple of months and he is stimulated, engaged and ends in a great mood. They seem the right length, with the right length vignettes and changes. Dr Algayed has created something truly unique - an age appropriate collection of stimulating images to aid the development of the infant and toddler.

The pediatrician-guided ‘As I Grow’ series is one that I would highly recommend for all infants and young children. By incorporating visual cues and repetition, this series provides the opportunity for the young one to advance thru stages of cognitive growth.

Unlike other similar products, the As-I-Grow DVD series was designed by a team of experts on cognitive and linguistic development and reflects what researchers know about how infants learn. The simple shapes and scenes are very well tailored to narrow age ranges in infancy, rather than being designed to be exciting to adults or older children. These brief videos are engaging without over-stimulating, and are sure to delight infants.

A wonderful DVD series, based totally on what we know that children are capable of understanding and learning at this age.  Each DVD builds upon the previously ones and takes it a step further.

This is not watching TV; this is a learning tool.  In this age of technology with computers, iPODs, and DVRs, this is another way of using media to our advantage.  This series is not passive, it involves active participation.

This set of DVD’s follows an enlightening progression from the younger infant to the toddler. It appears to include elements of sound and visuals which are age appropriate and educational. It is likely to hold the attention (and become a favorite) of our youngest patients while each DVD builds on the previous one to reinforce basic learning skills and areas of socialization.

This DVD series will help our babies and small children develop motor skills. They will copy the kids in the video playing, engage in cause and effect play, and do a lot of giggling! This video series will certainly help small children grow in many developmental areas and as they get older, get off on their feet and move, laugh and have fun without even realize how much this is nurturing their development.

I'm particularly impressed that the program has used child development experts to create a learning experience for young children that is targeted for very specific ages. This approach clearly goes beyond similar products so that parents can feel confident that their child will benefit from their exposure to these developmentally appropriate videos. Jessica, our baby, loves the video. She is now 6 months old. We have had her watch it while she is on the floor, looking up at the television. It's the only tv we have her watch.

I was so impressed with the visuals and concepts that were included, as well the general pace of what was introduced. It is FABULOUS...It's really 'one of a kind'..the quality of each of the components, e.g., the experiences and concepts within them based on the developmental perspective, the quality and artistry of the technology and music....I don't think I've seen any better...!
