Uptown

This is the neighborhood in which Charlie Chaplin and Gloria Swanson once made movies at Essanay Studios.

Near the intersection of Broadway and Lawrence are two grand old movie theaters, the Uptown (which is currently unused), and the Riviera (now a music club).

Argyle Street, at the northern portion of Uptown, is the commercial heart of Chicago's Southeast Asian community.
